Review 8/30/2010
Instead of re-writing everything that happened, I am just going to copy and paste the email I sent the company. ********* WARNING *********** DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! One thing I didn't mention was that the truck they sent us had defective brakes. They had to place a large rock to prevent it from rolling. I have already contacted the California Highway Patrol about this issue. 1. You sent me a 26' truck, which was NOT able to handle ALL of our furniture and boxes. I gave you an inventory of our property and YOU said it was going to be okay. The truck was POORLY packed. Ron even told me that "everything wouldn't fit and asked me which items were more important to load. Beds or boxes?" 2. Ron, although, seems like a nice guy, tried to sell us $200 of unnecessary insurance and products. 3. Prior to leaving I asked Ron which route he was taking. He showed me a map with the route going through Highway 74, 371, and 79. I've driven those roads SEVERAL times and it is a much longer route, because it is a mountainous drive. I gave Ron a Google copy of the same route I ALWAYS take to my home in Temecula, taking the Beaumont, Highway 79 exit. It took them 2 hours and 45 minutes to get to Temecula?!!!! The truck left for Temecula, approximately 30 minutes before me. I made it a point to leave shortly after, so I could follow them. I DID NOT see the truck on the interstate, along the way. Believe me, I looked for them. I called him several times to try to locate him. He didn't even know where he was, at one point. It takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, to drive 80 miles, in a car to travel to Temecula. I would understand a 26' single axle moving truck taking 2 hours. But 2 hours and 45 minutes?!!! 4. We still have SEVERAL items at our La Quinta home that my wife and I, in our SUV, along with her sister, driving her van, had to return to LQ, to pick up items not loaded on to the moving van. We will have to drive back, with a trailer, just to pick up the rest of our things. ie: gas bbq grill, patio table and chairs, air compressor, rolling tool box, and approximately 20 boxes. I gave you these items, as part of the inventory. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! Unless this issue is resolved to our satisfaction and in an expedient manner, my wife and I will be contacting our bank to dispute the charge of $855. We will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau of Southern California and other consumer advocates to file a complaint about your company. We will also be contacting VANLINES.COM, to recommend not to use your company. We will be awaiting your phone call with information of how you will resolve or have resolved this issue. Oh and one more thing. I even made sure that your workers had cold bottles of water to drink, so they wouldn't get dehydrated, while moving our things, in 90+ degree temperatures.
