Transport Services are dishonest and unprofessional. Here are the details of my experience.
I wanted a car shipped from Wisconsin to Houston.
1. They said they have their own drivers. Not true (see below).
2. They quoted a price and said no extra charges. Not true (see below).
3. After giving them a credit card, and telling them it was ok to pick up the car - it took 6 days for them to call, saying 'they have assigned a driver, but his truck has mechanical problems. He will get it repaired and make the pick up the next day'. Then asked about delivery details - which was written on my copy of the contract. I began to get concerned.
4. I did not hear from them for 4 days.
5. I called and they said, they just assigned a driver (never said what happened to driver #1) and he would pick up tomorrow.
6. Four days later, the truck arrived in Houston. I was having the car delivered to a repair shop. The driver demanded payment - in cash - or he would take the car back to Wisconsin and charge 2x plus fines! I was not at the shop. If the company had it's own drivers, why did they not pay him from my credit card? And, why did they never mention this requirement in all the phone calls and discussions?
7. In addition, the total due increased by $75 - surcharges (see #2).
8. Now, the repair shop manager convinced the driver to unload the car.
9. In the meantime, I contacted the driver's trucking company - they hardly knew who transport services were (so much for #1). I told him I could not get to the repair shop before his driver would leave - too far across town. We agreed that I would wire him the payment. Plus a $100 fine because his driver had to wait at the shop for an hour or so.
10. In the meantime, the driver left. The car was unloaded and on the street by the shop. But, on his way out the driver stole the car keys from the shop manager's desk.
11. The trucking co rep contacted the driver, but the driver refused to turn back and return the keys.
12. The trucking co rep said he would get the keys from the driver in a few days and FedEx them to me.
13. Transport Services says all this is between me and the trucking company.
What a nightmare. These guys are thieves. I'd say incompetent, but they did get my money! And, my car is locked up and on the street across town. And it has already cost me $175 more than the quoted cost.
The worst for me is that other reviews about Transport Services are just as bad as mine!
