Here is my honest review of Southland Dental. In my experience with them, they are completely pushy and fraudulent. I went in for a pseudo "Free Cleaning" or discounted (it was like $15, it was one of those mailers that come in ValPak) cleaning and exam.
Everything was fine at first and I thought, okay they're nice and the office is high-tech and clean. But then the most uncomfortable and despicable dental experience occurred. Right after my exam and BEFORE my cleaning, the male, head dentist told me I needed this very advanced laser cleaning thing. He then sent in a sales girl to tell me it was over $3,000 and I told them I don't have insurance. They were SOOOOO pushy, it was ridiculous. She then said "well let me talk to the dentist and see what we can do." She comes back like 5 minutes later and says he'll take off several hundred dollars.
It felt like a joke, bargaining for a dental cleaning. Then she said "okay we can take off another 10 percent, but that's it." I said no thank you again and then they sent in another girl to ask why I didn't want the cleaning. I said no again and then they left me in there for about 20 minutes, it was awful. Very weird and almost "cultish" feeling. I finally got up and walked to the front desk and said "I've been waiting in there for awhile and I have to go, I have a meeting to get to." I told them I didn't get the cleaning, but still gave them the 10 or 15 bucks and left... they knew it was weird. So, sorry for long review, but they fall into the shady dentist category. Very uncomfortable.
