BEWARE OF OC NISSAN!!! DONT FALL FOR THE SPOT DELIVERY SCAM!!
It all started after my wife and I test drove the car we liked (white 2014 nissan altima) and we were ready to make a deal. My lady got denied so I had to cosign and then our salesman FERNANDO ran my credit and his first offer was 12% 3500 down and 575
monthly payment & 1000 for our trade in. The monthly payment was way out of our budget and interest rate was way to high. We weren't interested anymore and immediately the so called manager SCOTT got involved and took over. ( FERNANDO was professional, knowledgeable
on his cars, and an all around good guy.) SCOTT stated that they were desperate for a sale that night and they were ready to make me an unbelievable deal that I wouldn't resist only cause they needed the sale. He offered me 10.33%,3500 down, and 475 payment.
We still were hesitant but then he dropped it down to 9.69%, 1500 down, 475 payment. I asked SCOTT how he was able to drop it down almost 3% points just like that and his sales pitch was 'we are the financing company' as in he was gonna use nissan to back
his deal up. He also stated that everything was ready for us in financing and i asked "who accepted our loan" and he stated "nissan." The reason I made sure to ask was because there was no point in going into finance and signing contracts if I didn't get approved.
I was under the impression that we did get approved. Now we were on our way to finance were we met PETER. Peter seemed like a nice guy at first, he was quick and got to the point since our deal was made after 9pm, closing time. He started running some numbers
and asked us if we wanted to hear how he can get us a 0.9% interest rate. He said that if we purchased the warranty he would be able to give us 0.9%, 1500 down, and lower our payment to 425. I was amazed and told him to run the numbers both ways so I can see
it with my own eyes, which he did. I would finance 6000 or so more for warranties now but at the end of the contract I was really saving myself 3000-4000 in interest since at 0.9% i was gonna pay 659 and at 9.69% it was gonna be around 10000. I was more then
happy with PETER that he could give us that option because to me it made sense to go that way. At first it seemed a lil fishy because APR should be based on your credit worthiness, not on weather you buy warranties or not. I asked PETER how he was able to
do this and his sales pitch was that "I am good friends with the manager at nissan financing." Again I was already under the impression that nissan accepted our loan because thats what SCOTT said but I knew better, so I asked again. I asked PETER this time
who accepted our loan and he said NMAC which is NISSAN MOTOR ACCEPTANCE CORPORATION. ((Never did I ask who were they trying to get it approved by, I SPECIFICALLY ASKED "WHO ACCEPTED OUR LOAN"! <--- the point I made is important later.)) We did not have our
trade in that day nor a check so we signed a contract that was way higher then what it should be but was told bring in our car and check the next day for a re wright. We signed everything, got our keys and drove away. The next day we went back in and dealt
with the other finance guy since PETER wasn't there. We signed the paper work that canceled the old contract and before signing the new ones I told the finance man that our insurance was asking who accepted our loan and he said NMAC/Nissan. We completed our
business and we were happy customers, our credit scores were good but at the end of everything I thought we got an unbelievable deal. (I guess its true when they say, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.) Yet I knew what I was walking into and know
how to play the game. Thats why I asked who picked up our loan to reassure myself that when I signed it was a done deal and I wouldn't get a spot delivery instead. A few days later I got a call from PETER saying he had missed a signature of ours and that there
was an error made on the tire charge on our contract and that we would have to come in. We came in the very next day and he was tied up with a customer so he let us know it would be best to come the next day. We said we would but we didn't cause we wernt able
to so we went in the day after that. PETER then started saying our loan had got denied and we needed to do a re wright. At that moment my anger and frustration hit the roof. I told PETER that he told me that Nissan had accepted our loan and PETER said he never
did. I was deceived into signing a contract. Like I had said before, I was under the impression that NIssan accepted our loan because of SCOTT when we were still out in the sales floor and I reassured myself by asking PETER at financing before signing anything.
PETER then said he could help us out and get us out of this mess. His new offer was that we needed to close my wifes deal how it was but in order to do that we would have to remove one car loan from her name, since she is cosigned on mine also. Our deal would
stay the same if I traded in my car for one of there cars. I did not want to involve myself anymore, nor was I planning or looking into buying a car. I was not interested so he said all he could do was try to get our original deal approved, which he knew would
of never happened, our they would ask for there car back. I told them they could have there car and he then let me go and said he would be contacting me soon. In a few days SCOTT gave us a call and asked me if I could come in so we could have a talk about
what had happened between me and PETER. SCOTT tried to sale me a new deal which didn't have to involve me trading in my car anymore but yet our original deal that he had gave us before PETER changed it. He offered 9.69%, 1500 down and 475 payment. I told him
that was ridiculous and how they could do this to me if we had a signed contract already. He said 'we were under a legal bond and that our loan had never gotten approved so the deal fell trough. He wanted to make me feel like I was screwed, he used every trick
in the book. The 'were in a legal bond' line, scare tactics, secondary bogus deals, the 'your car will get repossessed' line and everything you can think of. I didn't crack and refused to make a deal with him. He was getting mad that I didn't want to cooperate
cause he knew if I didn't they were screwed. He was very aggressive, he let his pride get to him, unprofessional, had a poor choice in words and left a bad impression on me. All they could do was push the deal and hope it got accepted by the banks, ask for
the car back, or take the hit and have the dealer accept the loan themselves. PETER & SCOTT both knew the deal wouldn't get accepted so there only real options was to honor the deal from the dealer or ask for the car back. Either way I wasn't loosing anything
were as for the dealership it was a lose one way or another. If they were to ask for the car back they would have to sell it as a used car and since it now had mileage on it they knew they would take a 2000-3000 loss for a deal gone wrong. On the other hand
if they would have honored the loan trough the dealer there would be no bank involved so I would be paying them there 27,000 in 5 years instead of immediately how a bank would when a loan is accepted. I came in a few days after all that mess to talk to MIGUEl
the sales floor manager now. He also tried to sale me a deal when he knew I was over it and ready to move on. He then heard my side of the story and said that himself the GM,PETER & SCOTT were gonna have a meeting to discuss what happened. He said he couldn't
do anything for three of his employees saying our deal had been approved by nissan, that it was out of his hands since he wasn't present but that he would take care of it. He told me to come back that same day to sign the release forms and everything else.
The second finance guy was the one who handled that paper work and before signing anything I made sure to ask that once these forms are signed I was released from everything, I would get my trade in back, and there was no hidden fees or strings attached and
he said that was correct. For some reason they couldn't give us our title, registration nor the check that was on hold even tho the contract had been canceled and we exchanged cars. How is it that they were able to do that, were does it say you could keep
my forms till the next day. All they kept them for was for security, a reason to get me down to the dealer again incase there car was banged up which either way it wouldn't matter because it was never mine and I was released from liability. The point of all
this is that they saw us as easy targets. They set the bait (a unbelievable deal) hooked us (deceived us to believe our loan was accepted) and reeled us in (got us to sign the contract under the imprecation that we were financed already.) They thought that
maybe because of our credit scores we would accept there secondary offer cause we thought it couldn't get better, or that we fell in love with the car and would do whatever it takes. In reality I was always one step ahead of all of them and knew better. They
picked the wrong guy to mess with and I let SCOTT & MIGUEL know that I knew all this was a spot delivery scam. They couldn't believe how much I knew, how I was able to come back at them with facts when they fed me there lies, and even asked if I was in the
car business cause they knew I wasn't gonna let myself get screwed and they lost. According to them its "common practice." Now that I know OC NISSAN works that way ill make sure never to go back and make sure I protect others from falling into the web of lies
and deception. Today I got my documents back and our deal is completely over but my revenge is just getting started. The people who in my eyes are at fault here are SCOTT,PETER & MIGUEL from OC NISSAN. They will never forget me, ill make sure of that. PS:
its amazing how a simple voice recorder on your phone can come in handy when doing deals, and things are said that shouldn't be said. Little did they know that they were dealing with someone who came prepared and recorded every conversation at every point
of the deal for my own security, not with someone who is idiotic and falls for there scams. Like I said I was always one step ahead of you and was in control of the situation from the moment I walked in to look at your cars.
