This company is a scam. I seriously doubt the fantastic reviews they get are legit. We hired them to move us from CA to CT. TOTAL NIGHTMARE. They arrived on June 29 and stuck us with their baloney extra packaging charges that they never mention during the original quote. They quoted us $1200 and by the end of this fiasco we ended up paying $3,200. Communication was horrible. We heard "the truck is leaving tomorrow" a total of 9 times. They did not return emails or phone calls and they lied by saying they used their own air conditioned trucks. After 1-month, I attempted to file a complaint with BBB only to find out they are not accredited. I got on the DOT website only to find out they are operating without a license! I contacted the enforcement agency of DOT and filed a formal complaint as was told they were already under investigation. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are a "rogue" company according to the enforcement office at DOT. Anyone want case number, specifics just contact me. Cali Movers hires Joe Shmoe to load and haul your things to who knows where. Your belongings will be loaded and unloaded off 3-4 trucks before you get your belongings. The truck that showed up was a "sub-contractor" who had no idea who Cali Movers were. Our stuff was not delivered until 8-1-11. HUGE inconvienence. We have filed a claim for close to $3K in damages. You name it, scratched furniture, warped mattress, destroyed paintings, broken lamps oh and the wine that we spent $$ to pack safely was destroyed due to it being stored and hauled in a truck that was not air conditioned as promised. We will take this all the way to civil court if we have to. They are crooks.
