We started our remodel 6 months back on our kitchen and two bathrooms in our house here in LA. The contractor we originally selected started the demolition of the project, but then we found out that he did not have insurance, he basically lied to us. We stopped the work and we started looking for people who could continue our remodel. Soon we were going through so many contractors and we were very jaded because of the past experience. Thankfully one of A1 Construction's canvassers was on our street and knocked on our door. We set an appontment with the guy named Ben who was very polite and knowledgable. He took our info down set an appt and had the office contact us. A few days later Ron Friedman showed up to our home and he gave us an estimate. At first we thought he is just like all the other contractors, but he had his office mail us all their license, insurance, bonding and workers comp info. He then took us the very same day around LA to the jobs he had done and we spoke to many of his customer who all said nice things about him. The price he quoted us was higher than most contractors, but I guess you get what you pay for because after just 8 weeks of remodeling our kitchen and bathrooms, the work looks superb! Ron even brought us to his own vendors to get better prices for the tile and the fixtures, so we saved lots on those items. The only thing that I can say that is somewhat critical of Ronnie and his company is that they really have higher prices than most contractors. I think this is because he only employs professionals and NOT day laborers. He also told me that insurance and workers comp is expensive but it protects homeowners like us so we defintely appreciate his honesty and integrity. We eventually paid a hgher price, which I think we should have done in the first place, because I think we could've ended up with more expenses and a worse project, if it wasn't for the work that A1 Construction did for us. Thanks A1 and we will refer you to our family members in the future.
