Being Scammed from Paypal's ridiculous 180 Days Dispute/Return Policy
I sold an item on Ebay to this scammer (I should have known since they had 0 feedback and weird characters as their ID name) in December of last year. 4 months later, I get a claim from Paypal and funds are taken out of my account/negative balance, stating the scammer "didn't receive item, don't want it anymore". The only way to appeal through Paypal's automated system is to provide a current tracking number. But guess what? How convenient for the scammer that USPS tracking/Ebay expire their history in 90 Days. But Paypal allows these scammers to open up these outrageous claims for 180 Days. So all Paypal does is lazily check to see if that tracking number is valid or not (That's also another scam how people get sent fake items/empty envelope and get **bleep** too) So these dishonest scammers open up these claims 4 months later after all the evidences are clearly gone. Paypal does NOT care how ridiculous these scammers make these claims months later and their only concern is a tracking information that is available online. They don't take into consideration how ridiculous it is to claim months later "Oh, I didn't receive something so I'm going to complain now, 4 months later", or look at their track record. I appealed and even called Paypal/spoke to a supervisor and all they care about is a tracking number that shows delivered - when it's so frustrating that we have no control of providing that tracking because it's been over 90 days. They don't care. This is how all these scammers get away with Paypal's outrageous 180 day policy. What can be done? I lose out on money, time, product, and get penalized from paying ebay fees as well. While this scammer gets a free product. It looks like this scam has been going around for awhile and Paypal does not care allowing these scammers to win every time.
