Review 12/29/2009
I purchased a car from this place in November and made a down payment of $2500 cash. They wanted $2800, and insisted on it so they added the extra $300 as a "pick up" payment. Somehow this $300 pickup payment turned into 7 payments of $140. The salesman there, John assured me that if anything went wrong with the car that he would have it fixed FOR me. A week after I had the car, the clutch suddenly blew up on me (I've had nothing but manual transmission vehicles my entire life and I don't do any racing or hard driving). They said they would take care of it and have it towed. The tow truck driver arrived, eventually, and wanted payment. I called their office manager Yen Ling and told her I shouldn't have to pay for anything considering I've only had the car a week and John assured me he would take care of it. She said their company would pay for the tow. A few days later John calls me quoting me prices for the repair, and I told him I shouldn't have to pay because he promised they would repair for me, and especially since I had the car for ONE week. They said the best they could do was tack on the cost to my weekly payment. I had no choice but to agree, or lose my $2500 deposit. They had my car for a week before I got it back, and I had to pay almost $400 to get it back. After another week, on the highway the car suddenly starts stuttering, the check engine light comes on, and the SRS light came on. I had to leave the car at my mothers apartment, and a couple days after I left for a family emergency to Iowa. I tried to call them over the weekend to make a payment, and Yen Ling gave me a different number to call, but after numerous calls no one picked up. I was there for a week when I get a call from my mother telling me that the car was gone. They had repoed it. They told me if I want to get my car back that I'd have to pay the car in FULL, not catch up with my 3 weeks of payments, but pay off the car entirely. These people are liars and crooks who prey on people with bad credit and low income, and I believe they set things up this way knowing the car had problems. I am out $3000 and have had the car for a total of 2 months, with almost half that time the car being broken down. I will be pursuing a law suit against them in court.
